With the Lap Band, you can become pregnant at anytime desired. To ensure that you will receive adequate nutrition for both you and your child, it is recommended that all fluid be removed from the band to allow more food intake.
With the Gastric Bypass, it is strongly recommended that women wait at least one year after the surgery before a pregnancy. Approximately one year post-operatively, your body will be fairly stable (from a weight and nutrition standpoint) and you should be able to carry a normally nourished fetus. You should consult your family physician or Gynecologist to evaluate your health from this standpoint. |
